Psychotherapy
Working out your difficulties, expectations and goals together — in person and online.
Psychotherapy is a form of treatment based on regular conversations with a psychotherapist. It helps you understand yourself, your emotions and your patterns of behaviour better, cope with difficulties and make lasting change. It can be effective in depression, anxiety disorders, life crises, difficulties in relationships, and in working on yourself.
We work in several approaches (including psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioural) and choose the approach to fit your needs and goals. We start with a few initial sessions in which we get to know your situation and agree the goals and the terms of our work together. Sessions usually last 50 minutes and take place regularly — most often once a week — in person or online.
Psychotherapy is a process that takes time and commitment; the effects appear gradually. Its effectiveness rests largely on a safe, trusting relationship with the therapist. Everything we talk about is confidential. The length of therapy depends on the goals — from a few months to longer-term work.
You do not need to prepare specially for the first session — a readiness to talk is enough. It is worth thinking about what you want to change and what you expect from therapy. For an online session, arrange a quiet place, a stable connection and headphones.
